Do you like my hair long or short or somewhere in between? Should I have it bodywaved (professionally of course) if I keep it long for a while? Would that be a recipe for disaster?
What could I do to look better generally speaking? Do you have any specific makeup or tips you can recommend?
I'm not terribly into the idea of changing my hair color. I think its rather wonderful, particularly in sunlight when its red is evident. Though I suppose I could enhance the red if anyone thought that would greatly improve matters.
I just feel rather plain lately.
There are about 8 million pics of me on my myspace page if you need a reference. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus
Feel free to post anonymously if it makes you feel safer, but I promise not to take offense, unless you say, for example- "There's nothing you can do, you freakish sow!"

I've had bodywave perms in the past and was never impressed.
As far as makeup goes, I think you pull off a smokey eye amazingly well. Your eyes are so gorgeous and it just works for you. Clearly you don't want to do a smokey eye every day, but you could always do a light version of smokey for a daytime look and darken it up for nights when you want it to be more dramatic.
My best makeup discovery of 2007 is blush and highlighting powder. I never thought my cheeks needed color until I started using it. I love adding a bit of color to my upper cheekbones (and sometimes the apples of my cheeks) and then running a bit of shimmery highlighting powder along the very top of my cheekbone and toward my temples. It's a great trick that a lady at the makeup counter taught me, I think it does wonders.
One thing that helps me not feel plain, even if I'm plain everywhere else that day, is lipgloss. Tinted lipgloss, clear lipgloss, glittery lipgloss...whatever it is, it always makes me feel better about my appearance.
Either way, I think you are gorgeous.
Can you recommend a cheekbone highlighting powder?
Describe a daytime smokey eye- my eyelids are so visible that any semi-dark shadow on them looks pretty dramatic.
Scroll down to the sheerspark pressed powder. Other people use MAC's Vanilla pigment and swipe that across the cheekbones to get the same effect.
These: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j
are also very similar to the one that I use.
As for a light smokey eye, you can do it with any color. Use a lighter color all over your eyelid, and a slightly darker color in the crease. Gray, Green, brown...any of those colors. It's a bitch to sort through, but
Here is an example:
The purple-y gray color is in the crease....well, slightly above the crease where it touches the eyebrow closest to the nose, but you get the general idea. It's where your eye folds when it is open.
Although I generally don't like short hair on women, and I persuaded you to keep your hair long before you cut it, your short hair did infact look very chic. with a side part. It also makes you
not look like a freakish sownot looks as short as you actually are. :PIt's really tough for me cuz I LOVE long hair...but I probably shouldn't have it cuz it makes me look shorter than I am!
But anyway, shorter hair on you WORKS. it fits your face and your body type. so why not?
If you're gonna continue with the long hair (which I love) I'd say go with layers and side swipe (long) bangs...I wonder how you'd loook!! at least try it before u chop it off again. it'll be a fun look for you I think. Then you wouldn't have to get a BODY WAVE (?! wat the hell lol). Layers will add volume.
I suggest going to the hair guy I go to (Volcan...."like volcano without the o in the end") at Pro-Euro on GWU campus. He knows what looks good on women. (lol I don't mean to sound like I have an amazing haircut but he's given my friends some really good haircuts too :) )
Regarding make up...for everyday...go with light blush (go to mac - but don't let them persuade you into buying crap...just shop on your own lol...they're so annoying those sales ppl. they put some lipstick on my hand that stayed on my hand for a week and a half) and kohl (or the smudge pot from sephora) and matte-ish lips (lip gloss if dry) but not like glittery gloss.
was that a really long comment? wow.
this must be tara...pre immaculate alien conception

I think maybe that haircut would be cute! And not something I ever would have picked on my own.
omg i have to get back to work hahaha
cute
I don' tknow why but I've always loved her hair.
I like the other pic suggestions too.
Long straight hair.
I have nothing else to say. My hair is long and boring and I don't wear makeup except the occasional mascara.
Oh, and you're gorgeous. I would never ever ever think of you as plain.

And I think:
Short. You can pull of the gamine thing. But I would like to see the eyebrows thinner. I think it would put a bit more focus on the cheekbones. You have such expressive eyes already, with the heavier eyebrows it really overshadows the rest of your face.
